Did you know the history about big trees in Mahasarakham?

February 16th, 2012

Surely many people do not know the history about big trees, although they live in Mahasarakham province.

There are many big trees in a village where should be a town of Mahasarakham province in the past. One of elder people in the village said that about 100 years ago Ladphatthana was a big village that there were many people lived in. Because Ladphatthana was located near Chi River, there were immigrants who moved from other provinces. In the village there was a chief. He always told his villagers that they should not cut down the big trees because there were satyrs who protect the trees and the village. Although the chief always told the villagers that do not cut the trees, but there were some villagers who did not believe in satyrs. They tried to cut down the big tree. The satyrs were very angry at them and burn the village. This was a cause why many people moved into the town nowadays.

Each tree is very big and tall that can be hold by 10 people. If you want to see the big trees, you can see them in Ladphatthana village. It is far from the town around 10 kilometers. All of the big trees are in a school named Banladphatthana School.

Now many people know the history about the big trees in Mahasarakham province.

Make a new drain around Srisawad Park

February 14th, 2012

Two last weeks ago people in the town did not have a problem about traveling around Srisawad Park, until the governor of Mahasarakham province decided to make a new drain beside the road last week. People who travel around Srisawad Park have a problem when they use the road to travel. Moreover, people can use only one lane and this is the cause of bad traffic.

I believe that the governor of Mahasarakham province want to have a good drain to manage water when there is flooding in the town. Then, they decided to make a new drain around Srisawad Park.

However, I think that the governor of Mahasarakham should make a new ditch in the summer when the schools and university are closed because it will be not a lot of people use the road. Besides people are not comfortable to use the road, I feel that people who have houses around Srisawad Park have terrible dust problem too.
